Happy New Year! I hope your celebrations were full of joy and excitement as we welcomed 2026.

This year’s New Year’s Eve fireworks burst across the sky in a celebration of everything that makes London extraordinary: our incredible diversity, our sense of unity, and the spirit that brings us together as a city.

We were also proud to pay tribute to an unforgettable year for women’s sport. From the Red Roses’ triumphant Rugby World Cup win to the Lionesses’ historic Euros victory, the display celebrated the stars who lit up the pitch and the country in 2025.

And the magic didn’t stop there. Thanks to our partnership with Universal Pictures UK, ‘Defying Gravity’ turned the sky pink and green as Cynthia Erivo from the film ‘Wicked: For Good’ reminded us to embrace the magic we have inside and come together for good.
